INJURED: Xander Schauffele Reveals Injury That Could Sideline Him for Weeks
Xander Schauffele is dealing with an injury, it has been revealed. Schauffele has pulled out of two golf tournaments early this year without much of an explanation why, with many suggesting a move to LIV Golf.
However, Schauffele is actually dealing with a rib injury, according to Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis:
World #2 @XSchauffele has been bothered with a right rib injury since late last year. It is not skeletal but instead soft tissue. Played through issue at @TheSentry but resting now and not making any full swings. Not playing hometown event this week. Uncertain about @attproam.

Schauffele withdrew from the American Express and the Farmer’s Insurance Open, which is set to take place in his hometown of San Diego this weekend at Torrey Pines.
His status is currently uncertain for the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, a competitive tournament that takes place at the course each year.
With Schauffele’s injury, there are currently three players on the mend on the PGA TOUR as Scottie Scheffler suffered a hand injury over the Christmas holiday, and Jordan Spieth is recovering from wrist surgery that impacted his play over the past several years.
