Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay, widely known as Phil Mickelson’s caddie, will be taking off the headset and microphone this week. Bones will be back on the bag.

Bones reached out to Matthew Fitzpatrick this week asking if he needed help getting around Muirfield Village. This was a no-brainer for Fitzpatrick, as his caddie is stuck on the other side of the Atlantic.

“I was shocked, honestly. I was absolutely shocked.”

Bones has been around this place once or twice, and may be a secret weapon for Matt as he hopes to bounce back from a MC at the Travelers. Before that, he showed great form and looks to regain some of that momentum.

It’ll be good to see Mackay back out on the course, but this time, without the mic pack.

I grew up in southern New Hampshire, where I first fell in love with the game of golf. I started by just going out and messing around with my buddies and focusing purely on having a good time! I never took golf seriously until I moved down to Tampa, FL to attend the University of South Florida. Go Bulls! At the start of my junior year I got a job working as a cart boy at a local private country club. This is when I started to focus on golf becoming my career. During the fall of my senior year, I turned from a 14 handicap, to a 2. I passed the PAT scoring test my first try and haven't looked back.
