Joe LaCava, Tiger’s Caddie, Once Paid a Heckler $25 to “Take a Hike”

Once a rumor, the story of Tiger’s caddie paying off a rowdy fan has been confirmed by caddie Joe LaCava himself.

LaCava, joined the Pin High Podcast and was asked if there was any truth to the alleged pay off. Sure enough, LaCava did say he’d paid a heckler to beat it after Tiger hit an errant shot on the 14th at Firestone.

“Tiger’s running hot, and I’m trying to chase him down” LaCava said. “And some guy is all over him. This guy’s letting him have it”.

The heckler proceeded to ask an obviously bothered Tiger for an autograph, among other quips.

“Leave my guy alone!” LeCava told the fan.

Ultimately, LeCava offered a bribe of sorts to the fan, in an attempt to get him to stop.

“Yes, I gave him $25 to take a hike,” LeCava said.

Whatever it takes, I guess. Going the extra mile as only a caddie would!
