MEMPHIS, TN- The FedEx St. Jude Classic is an important event to gather FedEx Cup points. Seamus Power started the week 129th in the FedEx Cup Standings and is now projected to finish within the top 100. Brandt Snedeker is also projected to finish within the top 100 after starting his week at 128th. Snedeker, Power and the rest of the field are chasing Dustin Johnson who leads the tournament at 10 under after shooting a 63 on Friday.

Johnson started his round on the back nine but caught fire on the front nine. He holed out from 111 yards for eagle on one and followed that up with another near hole out on two. “I was swinging well and had a lot of good looks at birdies,” said Johnson.  He would make three more birdies to shoot a six under 29 on the front.

He is 95th in strokes gained off the tee and 54th in tee to green.

After claiming that he, “didn’t really have it today,” Mickelson remained hopeful when he said, “I’m in a decent position where if I come out tomorrow and shoot five or six under par I should get right in the mix for Sunday.”

My first love was baseball. I made the Junior Varsity Team my Freshman year of High School. That following Summer my Dad brought me to play my first round of Golf. I immediately fell in love with the game and became obsessed. I found myself playing nine holes before I had to be on the field for warmups. Golf was always on my mind. I began to follow the World’s Best and learn the mechanics and fundamentals of the game. I became obsessed with getting better. As my interests as a player in the game increased so did my interest as a fan. I began to religiously follow the PGA Tour and the best players in the world. I was memorized by their perfect swings and outstanding short games. This was just the beginning of my obsession with the beautiful game of Golf.
