Jon Rahm’s U.S. Open Replacement Has Been Named
Jon Rahm’s replacement for the U.S. Open has been named after the Spaniard withdrew from the event yesterday, citing a foot injury.
If, at any time leading up to the start of the U.S. Open, a player withdraws, an alternate is called to step in. Unfortunately for Rahm, his persisting foot injury, which led to him also pulling out of last week’s LIV Golf Houston event, will keep him out of this week’s competition as well.
However, it gives a chance to an up-and-comer, as Jackson Suber, who was the first alternate out of the Maryland Qualifying, will replace Rahm this week at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst.

Suber is 24 years old and attended the University of Mississippi, commonly referred to as Ole Miss.
This year, he has played 12 events on the Korn Ferry Tour, getting 2 Top 10s, 4 Top 25s, and making the cut in half of his starts.
He will start the U.S. Open in Rahm’s grouping, meaning he will play with 2015 U.S. Open Champion Jordan Spieth and 2021 Masters Champion Hideki Matsuyama.
