With the Open Championship set to start this Thursday, all eyes will be on the top players in the world and how they will perform on one of golf’s biggest stages. Plenty of attention will be on Justin Thomas, however, for another reason.

While Thomas is one of the top favorites to win the Open Championship, he’s also looking to score the most style points. Rocking Ralph Lauren polo shirts for most of the year, the brand has given Thomas an outfit that is sure to steal the spotlight on Thursday. Thomas announced all four outfits he will play in this weekend, and that Thursday’s outfit will include a cardigan and silk tie.

With a get up like that, some fans in the United Kingdom may confuse Thomas for James Bond when he tees off. And for fans that think playing in such clothes will be difficult for a golfer, it isn’t the first time that it has been done. Ryan Moore used to wear the same type of outfit for the occasional tournament.

Flamboyant attire seems to be a common trend when it comes to the Open Championship, as players always seem to display their creativity at the year’s third major. John Daly is always guaranteed to where something eccentric from his patented Loudmouth brand and there was also the year where Ian Poulter wore Union Jack pants that had the Claret Jug plastered all over them.

For Thomas in particular, crazy clothing combinations seem to be a good luck charm for him. Looking back at the U.S. Open, everyone was mesmerized by the hot pink pants that he wore. In that round, however, Thomas shot a 63 so maybe he’ll have some magic wearing the cardigan and tie. He’ll also be dawning pink again, along with camo pants for his Friday round in case the magic is in the pink.

Regardless of what he wears all week, Thomas has the talent and skill to be in contention all week so while eyes will be on his outfits the first two days, they could be on his position during the weekend.
