Quite a few big names will not be participating in the weekend festivities at The Masters.

Topping the list are Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau, and Xander Schauffele, among others, who failed to make the cut of +4.

Brooks Koepka, considered by many to be a weekend contender, posted an unimpressive +3 on the second day of competition, amassing a +6 and an early exit.

While past majors have seen Brooks step up to top form, Koepka couldn’t add a fifth major to the collection. Difficult conditions and missed opportunities confirmed Koepka’s Augusta departure.

Jordan Spieth was eliminated from competition after posting a +6 as well. The past success of Spieth was a non-factor for the 2015 champion.

Spieth needed only to par 18 to advance but double bogeyed his way out the door.

Quite possibly, the most predictable elimination of the notable names was Bryson DeChambeau.

Although DeChambeau did not speak to the media after the second round, his early address pointed the preemptive finger at nagging injuries. His +12 score seemed to confirm his injury woes.

Other notable names to miss the cut this year were Xander Schauffele, Abraham Ancer, and Louis Oosthuizen, who withdrew from competition with a neck injury.

Round three action kicks off at 10:20 a.m. EST.
