Last Week’s Winner Tony Finau Shockingly Withdraws Due to Injury
Tony Finau picked up his 5th win on the PGA Tour two days ago, marking three wins for 2022. It’s no secret that Finau has been hitting his strides more year by year, but this undisclosed injury is a mystery to many on its potential severity.
Finau has made clear in the past that withdrawing is something he does not take lightly.
Withdrawing from a tournament is never something that I take lightly, and I wish all of the pros and amateurs an incredible week in Scotland. The Dunhill is an awesome event, one that I regret missing and one that I look forward to returning to in the future.

This tweet only came out a day after the Ryder Cup, where Finau had cited he had come down with pneumonia a week before the Ryder Cup. Finau has always shown and made his passion clear.
“The only way I’m not playing in the Ryder Cup is if I had COVID. If I can barely walk, I’m playing. That’s how I roll.”
This withdrawal is shocking due to his previous track record when he dislocated his ankle in 2018 at the Par 3 contest at the Masters and popped in back like it was nothing. He went on to finish in a tie for 10th place. Finau is one tough golfer to say the least.
Thoughts and prayers for Tony Finau that he will improve quickly. PGA Tour Winner Kevin Chappell will take Finau’s spot in the RSM Classic.
