Report: LIV Golf Adds Danny Lee & Brendan Steele To The Roster

Thomas Pieters is the latest golfer to leave the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf.

It appears that the Belgian giant, current World #34, isn’t the only new signing to announce. As Tiger Woods rolls in birdies over at the Genesis, Greg Norman and LIV Golf are operating quietly in the background, with ESPN reporting that Danny Lee and Brendan Steele are being poached – two PGA Tour winners in their own careers.

Steele has amassed three wins, none of which are in the last five seasons, and has just remained in the top 125 in the world. New Zealander Danny Lee was a regular among leaderboards during the last decade but always fell away before a Sunday final round, managing a solitary win in 2015 in a playoff. He played this week at Rivieria and missed the cut at +3.

These aren’t huge names but demonstrate the attraction that LIV holds and perhaps some resentment towards the current state of affairs on the PGA Tour. Bearing in mind Mito Pereira and Seb Munoz are moving to LIV, this is a big week for new LIV Golf signings. When confirmed, that will be five new names on the roster.

Patrick joined us in May 2022 with a strong passion for the game and a writing style to match. He is a good golfer, originally from Cumbria in the UK, and now living in British Columbia, Canada. He focuses on writing opinion pieces while keeping up to date with LIV Golf, Tour events and Major championships, providing good insights into the professional game. His best golf memories are shooting 72 with a double on 18, running the Golf Society at Lancaster University, and steering them to the first ever Varsity win against rivals York. His favorite club is his Scotty Cameron Newport 2.0, and his favorite event is the Masters!
