While LIV Golf has struggled to gain a lot of traction in the United States, the series was welcomed with open arms in Australia over the weekend.

Fueled by popular countrymen in LIV CEO Greg Norman and defending Open Championship winner Cameron Smith, the sold-out and raucous crowd was the big story.

Images like this are just what LIV Golf needs to grow, as LIV Golf Adelaide sold out a total of 63,000 tickets over the course of the three-day event.

They also configured the 12th hole to be similar to TPC Scottsdale’s 16th hole from the WM Phoenix Open. It was called “The Watering Hole,” and it played up to its reputation on Sunday.

Chase Koepka hit a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th and a wild celebration ensued, complete with a beer shower for the younger brother of Masters runner-up from earlier this month.

Phil Mickelson said after his round on Saturday:

“This is really an example of what is possible and a new opportunity to present golf in a different way and have a different energy and a different feel.”

Lefty” finished tied for 11th for his best LIV finish of the season after tying for runner-up at the Masters.

The PGA Tour competed in its team-format event, The Zurich Classic of New Orleans, over the weekend. While television ratings for each event aren’t in—and probably aren’t comparable given that most of the LIV action took place overnight in the U.S.—that event set a tournament record for one-day attendance, as tournament organizers said between 33,000 and 35,000 were at the event on Saturday. Sunday’s final round drew an estimated 29,000.
