Patrick Reed has had a lucrative year on the course as a member of LIV Golf, and if he has his way, he’ll add a cool $1 billion in the courtroom as well.

In addition to a pending lawsuit against the Golf Channel and broadcaster Brandel Chamblee (among others, including Golfweek) that’s seeking $750 million in damages, Reed is now taking another group to court.

Reed is now targeting writer Shane Ryan along with the New York Post, Fox Sports, and the Associated Press, among others, in a $250 million lawsuit.

Reed’s attorney Larry Klayman used some strong language in the suit, accusing Ryan of being “pathologically obsessed” with harming Reed and his family.

Two books were cited in the lawsuit that were penned by Ryan: “Slaying the Tiger: A Year Inside the Ropes on the New PGA Tour,” and “The Cup They Couldn’t Lose: America, The Ryder Cup, and The Long Road to Whistling Straits.

Ryan responded to the lawsuit on Twitter.

Reed joined LIV Golf this year after several years on the PGA Tour, including winning the 2018 Masters. He was a part of the winning 4 Aces team this past weekend at Doral, where he pocketed $4 million for the victory.
