The Venture Bank Minnesota Golf Show is a huge event that takes place at the Minneapolis Convention Center, spanning over multiple days. One of the main events of the show is the competition that’s put on to see if any spectators can sink a 100 foot putt. Attendees can pay $5 to participate with the grand prize being $100,000 for any player who hits it.

The competition is a lot more complicated than walking up and hitting a flat putt, however. There are multiple holes that are available to putt at, and it’s not a simple one time deal. After paying the $5 fee, contestants have to sink the putt once, qualifying for the opportunity to make it again for the grand prize. So technically, you have to make the putt twice.

Golfer drains 120 foot putt to win $100,000 Putt at the Minnesota Golf Show (2018)

Golfer Paul Shadle of Rosemount Minnesota sinks a 120 ft putt to win The $100,000 Putt at the Venture Bank Minnesota Golf Show winning a $75,000 Pontoon boat and $25,000 cash. #SCTop10 #TwinCitiesGolf TwinCitiesGolf.com grants all media outlets permission to share this video with “Video by TwinCitiesGolf.com” acknowledgement

Paul Shadle is one of the lucky people who sunk the putt once to qualify but he had the aspiration to sink the putt a second time. And when he stepped up to the putting surface on the last day of the Golf Show, he buried his second 100 footer of the week, winning the incredible $100,000 prize for the first time in the 28 year history of the Venture Bank Minnesota Golf Show.

Unfortunately for the 49 year old Shadle, he doesn’t just get a lump sum of cash for sinking the putt. Instead, Shadle received a South Bay pontoon that is valued at $75,000 along with a $25,000 cash sponsored by Nelson Marine. And there’s a nice charity aspect to this as well, as a portion of the money made from would be contestants was donated to the First Tee Foundation.

Hopefully, Shadle’s putting prowess translates over to the golf season once it gets a little warmer in Minnesota but until then, I’m sure Shadle will enjoy his new boat.
