MULLIGAN: Wait, is it Eddie “Tin Cup” Pepperell?

The middle of November doesn’t strike many of us a “prime golf season” but that doesn’t mean good stuff doesn’t happen.

On the other side of the pond at the European Tour’s Turkish Airlines Open beloved fan favorite Eddie Pepperell went full Roy McAvoy as he ended up running out of balls.

I’m not kidding when I say he went full Tin Cup.

On the 5th hole he blew his entire supply of balls into the pond. Afterwards, he let his playing partners know he was ‘out of ammo’ and immediately walked off the course.

Because he couldn’t complete a hole he was disqualified from the tournament. Knowing what I know about Eddie (not much to be honest) I doubt this sat with him long. He probably went to the pub and got himself a drink. I don’t know if that’s true, but I wouldn’t surprise me if it was. Judging by this tweet, I’m probably right.

Eddie Pepperell is one of the most fun people to watch play golf. He’s very talented but he doesn’t seem to uptight at all. He’s one of the few guys on a professional level that an average person could probably play a round with at local course and have an absolute blast with. His skill set mixed with his personality makes him one of my personal favorites to watch and listen to.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
