Nelly Korda Drops Taylormade Driver in Favor of Titleist – Shoots 64 on Moving Day
On moving day, out came the Stealth 2 driver that had led to shaky scoring during rounds one and two, and in came the trusty Titleist TSR1.
Korda shot a seven under 64, her lowest round of the season so far! The round vaulted her back up to a tie for 5th place. The round also happened to fall on her 25th birthday!
In all, Korda hit eight fairways on Saturday, but her drives were leaving her in good spots to hit the green. She hit sixteen greens in regulation, leading to seven birdies and a stellar performance.
It’s not the first equipment change that has hindered the reputation of the new Stealth range in TaylorMade’s driver development. Rory McIlroy made a driver change at Riveria – moving to the Stealth 2 Plus after hitting shorter drives while playing with Tiger in February this year.
He famously had driver troubles the week later at THE PLAYERS, spiralling out to an opening 76.

Despite Korda’s bag deal with TaylorMade, the TSR change obviously did the trick – and the world #2 is poised and ready to make a charge on Sunday for her second career major.
