The Dunedoo Golf Course in NSW was vandalized by a man on a tractor late Tuesday night.

Dragging a disc plough behind the tractor, the 34-year-old tore up the course, leaving residents reeling and wondering why the man chose to do such harm to their beloved course.

Thankfully, the man was arrested on Wednesday, and charged with multiple offenses, some related to the vandalism, and others in regards to unregistered firearms found at his home. Currently out on bail, the vandal will return to court on May 5.

The clubs general Manager, Ricky Bush, was understandably frustrated with the situation.

“You’ll never see anything for as long as you live like what’s happened to Dunedoo golf course,” he said in a video posted to YouTube.

Residents were taking the tragedy just as hard.

“People were just staring at the mess and starting to cry. They couldn’t believe it,” Bush said in an interview with Golf NSW. We were only talking at our annual general meeting the other night about what we had achieved last year even with the pandemic, and now we have copped this.”

Though the damage will cause a setback (about 4 months), the club is looking forward to the future with hope.

“Thank you to those in support for our club after what has happened to our golf course,”
the club said on social media.

“We will be back soon.”
