Niemann & Pereira To Compete In Match To Raise Money For Junior Tour
This match has nearly gone under the radar other than in Spanish-speaking media that has been releasing some details on this inaugural event. The main goal is to raise money for the Elite Junior Tour in Chile to allow for more opportunities for young Chilean golfers while showcasing two of the best golfers from their country.
Co-director Claudio Correa said:
“We are organizing a game of match play, which is going to be played between Joaco and Mito at La Dehesa Golf Club, on December 7, and they are doing it for the benefit of the Elite Junior Tour; to raise funds to send children to compete outside (of Chile) and give them more benefits.”

Where did the idea start? The director was inspired by Tiger and Phil’s Match in 2018 and wanted to create an event with Chile’s finest golfers. With the recent success of Pereira and Niemann, it makes sense to showcase the country’s best talents in the game of golf. In addition to that, Pereira is an ambassador, and Niemann’s foundation supports the junior tour.
The Chilean stars will be playing starting at 12pm EST, December 7th, at Club de Golf La Dehesa. It will be an 18-hole match play event that will be played with around 1,500 spectators. According to a source, the match will be broadcasted by audio on iHeart, Sirius XM, said GolfWiken (Spanish golf media). No specific answer for an English broadcast, it seems the purpose of this event is to boost junior golf in Chile, not so much a global viewing experience.
