OOPS | Did Faldo Accidentally Announce Cancellation of Ryder Cup?
After weeks of speculating reports, Nick Faldo has let it slip that the 2020 Ryder Cup, scheduled to be played at Whistling Straits, is being postponed.
After Dustin Johnson’s win at the Travelers Championship, Faldo claimed the tournament was already postponed and rescheduled for 2021.
“Unfortunately with the Ryder Cup being cancelled, being moved a year, it would have been good timing for America right now.”
Keith Pelley, of the European Tour, has stated already that a decision should be made by the end of June. We are still waiting for an official announcement.
Brooks Koepka and Rory McIlroy have both stated in the last few weeks that a Ryder Cup with no fans would not be the same, and they should just wait to play it in 2021.
