OOPS: Toronto Man’s Golf Career Likely Over After Topping a Tee-Shot Live on Local News

If you were to make a list of the most embarrassing things you can do out on a golf course, topping the golf ball is sure to be pretty high up there.

Regardless if you’re playing with friends, by yourself, or if you’re even a tour pro, it’s gotta be one of the most deflating feelings in golf. Heck, even just watching someone top a ball causes some degree of second-hand embarrassment.

If this resonates with you at all, boy have we got an embarrassing story for you.

A Toronto man managed to top a tee shot (which happens to the best of us) but get this; it happened to be during a live local news broadcast.

A local news station was doing a segment about health protocols at golf courses in Toronto, and the poor guy just happened to be at the forefront of the shot.

The news station even took the liberty of zooming in to show how far his shot went, which was embarrassingly short. As if they needed to add insult to his injury.

Can’t you just imagine him snapping his driver over his knee right after the camera shuts off? There’s no way this guy didn’t get down right mad at the result.

Some were quick to point out that the news station could have done the decent thing and get rid of the footage, and use something else for the segment instead. Clearly, the news station found it too funny not to share, which is how it ended up on our docket here. It’s currently being passed around the likes of Twitter, Instagram, etc, and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

When all is said and done, hopefully the guy is a good sport about it and keeps working on his game. And who knows, maybe next year we’ll see a feature of him striping a drive further than Bryson’s famed 46 yarder.
