Pat Perez Pockets Another $900k With T31st Finish At LIV Golf Chicago
In terms of career moves, Pat Perez might have nailed it.
As the fourth member of the 4 Aces, he has amassed $3 million from his participation alone in four events. His best finish on his own ball is 15th out of 48.
Pat Perez has the best thing in golf going. Finished 31 out of 48 players and his team won for the fourth time this year. Now made $3 million this year alone from team victories. Hasn’t finished better than 15th on his own ball.

His contributions are more than some commentators make out, however. Perez was on the board twice this week for the 4 Aces, with rounds of one under par and three under par on Saturday and Sunday for his team. His performance actually captures a strength of the team format, his Thursday +4 would have him down and out in a regular PGA Tour stroke play event, but he still had an incentive to contribute over the weekend.
His stats in his LIV career so far simply confirm the decision he has made was a good one for him. Past his best, but able to secure an enormous nest egg to carry with him into his latter years. $3m in personal winnings from a team format is not a small amount.

And golf is not a sport one would associate with individual players in a team hanging on for the ride and being rewarded. In soccer, a couple of players can have a good game, and the team wins, regardless of the rest of the team’s performance. In cricket, some players will not bat or bowl, and their side emerges victorious. Golf is usually different, requiring individual brilliance to secure a payday at the end of a tournament.
But LIV is geared up to change the game. Some commentators love it. Hank Haney, a former swing coach for Tiger Woods, appears to enjoy the financial benefits associated with the team wins in LIV events. It’s a strange time as mediocre golf is being rewarded, but LIV events are gaining traction and turning heads. The next crucial step is a TV deal to gain more views for the rival Tour.
Haha I love it Pat Perez wins another $900k and the Four Aces win for the 4th time

Perez is vindicated in his decision to join the Tour, gaining more attention and earnings than he would’ve dreamed of. LIV Chicago played at Rich Harvest Farms, provided him with a 31st place finish and a cool $154,000 to add to the team bonus of $750,000. It is almost expected that the 4 Aces win the team format now, with DJ leading the charge. The powers that be may be inclined to switch up the teams before too long; for now, Perez and the 4 Aces are on top of the world.
