Patrick Reed’s $450k Custom Porsche Mysteriously Appears On Salvage Website
The Porsche GT2. Nicknamed “The Widowmaker” by car enthusiasts after Porsche decided to swap its Turbo-variant’s powerplant into a lighter-weight, rear-wheel drive car. Regardless of which generation and model you have, the GT2 is known as the hard-nosed, no-nonsense option that requires driving skill, attention, and respect.
And because GT2 is a limited-run model, every generation and model is a prized possession that often appreciates in value.

After winning the 2018 Masters, Patrick Reed treated himself to a completely custom, special-order Porsche GT2 RS donned in a custom order, Masters-inspired dark green with yellow brakes. The final price isn’t confirmed, but it’s presumed to have cost more than $450,000.00.
And after just 361 miles, the car is no more…

Despite not even reaching the engine break-in mileage, the custom Masters-spec GT2 RS is completely totaled but recently sold on Copart—an online car auction marketplace that features used, wholesale, and repairable vehicles.
Not a single body panel of the GT2 RS—which was confirmed to be Reed’s from the VIN number—survived unscathed, as the front right wheel appears to be pressed into the firewall, the magnesium roof crunched in over the passenger, and the rear spoiler is completely missing. Clearly, whoever was driving got into a serious accident.

Love or hate Patrick Reed, every golfer has a special place for the Masters. Add a color sports car into the mix, and even Reed’s rival must feel for the loss of this awesome Porsche—of which less than 1,2500 are believed to even exist.
