Patrons Are Back In Full Force As Masters Week Practice Rounds Begin

Let’s get one thing straight, at The Masters, there are patrons, not fans. For two years, there weren’t many of either descending upon Augusta, Georgia due to Covid-19 protocols and limited fan admittance.

As the 2022 tradition kicks off, patrons have returned in full force.

Perhaps a bit of extra buzz due to the Big Cat, patrons seem more ready than ever to return to the anticipated tradition.

At Monday’s practice round, both Tiger Woods and the patrons were back.

Tiger took his 9 hole practice round with Justin Thomas and Fred Couples. From all accounts, Tiger looked sharp, out driving J.T. and Freddy Couples by 25 yards.

Although showing a slight limp, it was reported that as the round went on, more balance and temp were attained.

Walking off, fans couldn’t help but shout to ask if Tiger would be playing this weekend.

As the world awaits an official announcement, it was hard not to notice the extra energy behind the ropes at Augusta National. We’ve all missed it.

Perhaps we have all been waiting for some sense of normal to return since the Covid-19 pandemic. Slowly but surely it seems like some sense of normalcy is returning; Big Cat on the ground to start Masters Week, patrons roaring at each chip and putt, and spring returning.

The patrons though, they give that extra boost that you just can’t manufacture.

Cheers to “A tradition unlike any other.”
