Phil Shows Off His “Fire” Side on Twitter

Phil the thrill is coming to twitter with straight fire this week.

Love him or hate him, he’s known for being a bit of a talker. This week is the second event in the 2019 FedExCup playoffs and his trash talking could be a strategic move.

It all started earlier this week with his “Phireside with Phil” post. He had a “special guest” for this episode.

Harmless fun we have come to expect from Phil. He talked about a time he was able to get the best of Tiger and he seemed to really enjoy telling the story.

Thinking that would be the end of the Twitter posts next came a post from Golfchannel.com staff writer Will Gray noting that out of the 69 players at the BMW Championship, 52 of them where playing in the Pro Am. Notable absence was Phil. This wasn’t an attack on Phil or an indictment, just a note on what’s going on. Mickelson came back with a side comment.

Typical Phil comment. Not being a jerk but at the same time, he’s not letting the thought of him blowing off fans go unnoticed.

That’s two tweets that caught the attention of golf fans and the tournament hasn’t even started yet.

On Wednesday a fellow PGA Pro was commenting on a quote from Phil via a Golf Digest tweet and his opinions on slow play. Donald started off his tweet with “Guess I’m an idiot then” followed by his opinions on slow play and green reading books. Phil who has been on his game this week took this opportunity to take a shot at Donald.

The tweet was picked up by pretty much everyone who follows Golf Twitter. Donald came back with the dancing Phil Gif (classic gif by the way) and you can see that they both seem to be having some fun.

Phil is known for being a bit of a smart ass. Its nice to see these players having some fun with one another on social media. I think Amanda Rose summed up Mickelson this week best with this single tweet.

Who knows how Phil will finish this week but either way he is a must follow on Twitter. If you don’t believe me, just go to @PhilMickelson and read the Tweets & replies section.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
