The PGA Tour confirmed this morning that it would begin filming Full Swing Season 2 this year and will be released in 2024. After a widely successful first season that followed the lives of Tour favorites Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Tony Finau, as well as LIV Golf defectors Brooks Koepka and Ian Poulter, the question begs: Who would be an ideal pick for Season 2?

The show gave an inside look into the day-to-day life of professional golfers, and even gave exclusive access to the activities the athletes partake in during some of the most stressful weeks of the year. Perhaps the most interesting portions of the first season were seeing how PGA Champion Justin Thomas navigated adversity through a tough week at Southern Hills before pulling off an unbelievable comeback to take home his second major. Matt Fitzpatrick’s triumph at the U.S. Open showed the up-and-coming career of a player who had widely fallen under many’s radars, while the swing struggles of Brooks Koepka unveiled how special his first victory on the LIV tour must have felt.

Vice President of Unscripted and Documentary Series for Netflix, Brandon Riegg, said:

“These shows quickly appealed to core fans of golf and tennis, and also recruited brand new fans from all around the world. Like so much of our growing sports slate, the compelling characters, competitive stakes, and vibrant storytelling reveal sides of the game you’ve never seen before, and we’re excited to follow the unpredictable turns of the year ahead.”

We know that there will be a new cast of golfers, according to the PGA Tour, who officially confirmed the second season this morning.

So, who could be the ideal candidates for the second season of Full Swing? The season is still relatively young, so it is tough to know who could ultimately end up in the viewfinder for the new edition. However, there are plenty of fan favorites that would be ideal for an episode: Will Zalatoris is one, especially if he can pull of a major win this year after falling short at the PGA in a playoff to JT and at the U.S. Open after narrowly missing a putt that would have sent him to a playoff with Matt Fitzpatrick.

Jon Rahm’s venture as the world #1 and his dominant start to the season would also make him an ideal candidate. After a tough weekend at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last weekend, it seems it might be interesting to see how a golfer who is so incredibly dominant handles the lower points.

Max Homa has also been a player that not only has a loyal fanbase but he is also someone that has truly stepped up their game early in 2023. Homa’s dry sense of humor and laser focus on the course make him an ideal candidate for Season 2.

Finally, it only feels right to include some sort of LIV content in the second season, especially after it definitely added a polarizing element to the series. Lee Westwood and Kevin Na have been outspoken defenders of their decision to leave the PGA Tour and go to LIV, so they would be great options. Patrick Reed, especially after his early season fireworks with Rory McIlroy and the tee incident, would be another exceptional addition.
