President Trump’s love of golf is clear, as evidenced by his many trips to the links and the fact that his family owns many golf courses around the globe. And lately, the Donald has been inviting plenty of top ten PGA TOUR professionals to join him on his outings. This week, his group included the top golfer of 2017.

A day after Christmas, the President was back on the course hosting a fivesome that included Justin Thomas, Thomas’ father, Daniel Berger, and Jim Herman. The group reportedly played a 22-hole draw at Trump International Golf Club.

Playing with Thomas and Berger has continued the President’s apparent goal to play with every member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Last month, President Trump teed it up with some other top players who participated in the Ryder Cup. Back in November, it was two former world number one players, Dustin Johnson and Tiger Woods who hit the links with the President.

Many will remember this meeting because of the pictures that circulated of Tiger donning the now infamous “Mac Daddy Santa” goatee.

For those wondering if this is new for a President to play so much golf with superstars, it’s really not anything out of the ordinary. While President Obama was in office, he also played several rounds of golf with PGA stars like Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods. Since then President Obama has also played rounds with other celebrities, most notably Steph Curry.

It’s certainly interesting to see all the top players on the PGA TOUR playing so many friendly rounds with the President but it should at least warm them up for the start of a new year. And we’ll be anxiously waiting to see who heads out with the President next.
