After a 10 week hiatus, golf and the PGA Tour is finally back and man, did we have fun. Personally, I watched from start to finish and it was the first time I was locked in on an event like the Charles Schwab Challenge.

During the A.M. rounds, Abraham Ancer, Jonathan Vegas, and Bryson DeChambeau started the day off well and would all go on to hold top spots on the leaderboard.

Bryson was the talk of the day as many were comparing his body from 2015 to current time. I know he told everyone he wanted to beef up, but no one thought this would be the outcome.

Of course, Phil Mickelson stole the show as he played his entire round in style with some of the coolest shades on. It’s almost as if he knew the cameras would be on him at all times?

During the P.M. rounds, both featured groups were stacked and we were in for a treat. Brooks, Rory, and Rahm all played well with a steady to start their season. However, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa really made a strong push during their back nine, all making their way to the top 10 after day one.

At the end of the day, Harold Varner III and Justin Rose are tied at the top of the leaderboard, posting 7 under par to start their tournament and showing they couldn’t wait to get back on the golf course today.

Highlight of the day went to Sung Kang as he recorded an ace on the 162 yard par 3 13t hole. Kang has played many golf rounds at Colonial, knowing the course like the back of his hand.

Who could’ve asked for a better day? Golf was live on tv for the first time in a long time, and I’m sure golf fans around the world enjoyed it.
