Rickie Fowler on the Outside Looking in for The Masters

The time is ticking, and it is less than two weeks until the 1st round of the Masters will begin. Rickie still remains outside the top 50 in the world, currently sitting at 59th. He needs to up that nine spots, or it will be three straight years of the Masters “Rickieless.”

There’s no question that Fowler is getting in his groove, notching yet another top-25 at the Players Championship just the other week. Rickie even took down one of the best players in the world in match play this week, Jon Rahm in the 1st round.

However, Rickie was unable to get out of the group stage, losing once to Billy Horschel in round 2. Fowler could have sent it into the playoffs to decide the group winner but came up a half-point short to advance to the quarterfinals.

He now needs a good finish at the Valero Texas Open this coming Thursday, which doesn’t seem much to ask for, given Fowler’s play this season. If he is able to win, it will easily seal his fate to end his drought in Masters appearances.

As you can see from the finishes above for Rickie Fowler, it has been a solid start pre-Masters with 6-top 25’s and 3-top 10’s.

Can the former Players Champion continue his consistent play at the Valero Texas Open for a shot at the Masters?
