Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll Call Off Divorce Ahead of U.S. Open
Rory McIlroy and wife Erica Stoll have called off their divorce ahead of this week’s U.S. Open, according to a new report from The Guardian.
The divorce petition that McIlroy filed last month in Florida was voluntarily dismissed, meaning McIlroy called his attorney and said the two had resolved their differences and decided against splitting up.
McIlroy filed for divorce in May in what came as a shock to many golf fans as the couple has a young daughter. However, it was interesting to note that McIlroy did not play in this year’s Par 3 Contest at The Masters, a family event. In 2023, McIlroy, Stoll, and daughter Poppy were at Augusta and participated in the event together.

McIlroy was contacted by the publication and he responded:
“There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
McIlroy was rumored to be dating CBS Golf interviewer Amanda Balionis during his time away from Stoll, speculation that was denied by the golfer when confronted with questioning surrounding their potential relationship.
Now it seems McIlroy will be working to win his fifth Major Championship with his wife by his side.
