Rory McIlroy Lights Up An F-Bomb On Hot Mic At PGA Championship

Rory McIlroy has had a tough year so far, and tough course conditions at the PGA Championship seemed to get the best of Rors on Friday as he was fighting to stay alive and make the weekend.

As Rory fought and clawed his way to a -1 on Friday to bring him even for the tournament, it was not without incident. Oak Hill has played extremely difficult through the first two days, especially as hard fairways have put several perfect drives into the water off the opening tee, and thick rough has turned blood pressure levels higher than most weekends.

A hot mic caught McIlroy on No. 14, and we can all relate, well, most of us at least.

We won’t caption the video, and we’ll let you figure it out for yourself, but the words are far from PG, so be sure to keep the kids away from the room.

It’s golf, and it’s a frustrating game. It is far from the only curse words we heard during the PGA Championship this weekend, but Rory has been relatively mild-mannered, and it is not frequent that we hear him launch these kinds of profanities on the course.

Rory has had a rough year, especially as a missed cut at the Masters was more than frustrating and forced the Northern Irishman to withdraw from the RBC Heritage, an elevated event.

This week, McIlroy shed some light on recent struggles he’s felt, and it seems his appointment as a spokesperson for the PGA Tour against LIV Golf has weighed heavily on him. He gave short answers during press conference questions this week regarding the Saudi-backed tour and may be pushing away his “responsibility” of defending the morality of the PGA Tour, which may help his conscience, focus, and performance moving forward.

McIlroy easily made the cut and sat T-10 at even par after the second round.
