Round 3 Recap at The Memorial Tournament
Spencer Levin was simply…on fire Saturday. With a chip-in an eagle off the green on No. 5 and a 30 yard chip shot for birdie on No. 10, Levin gave himself a commanding 4 stroke lead, before falling to just 1 to close out the day. A one shot lead is not a slam dunk going into a Sunday, and Levin is fully aware of the fact that plenty of work is left do be done.
Levin (-8) will play in the final pairing with Rory Sabbatini (-7) Sunday, who maintained his position on the leaderboard all day. Rory is a six-time PGA Tour Winner and I’m sure he’ll be wearing one of his crazy hats Sunday as he tries to win number 7.
Tiger Woods was seen on the range before his round Saturday still coughing and swinging very lethargically. He claims that he’s been battling the flu for the past couple of days, but still managed to finish the day on the leaderboard in 4th at -4.
He will be paired with Rickie Fowler on Sunday who is sitting alone on the leaderboad in 3rd place at -5.
Golficity’s Pick: Rickie Fowler is in 3rd at -5.
