Shooter McGavin Meets Tiger Woods
Everyone in golf has seen Happy Gilmore, right?
Rumour has it Bryson DeChambeau used it for inspiration to enter the long drive championships.
Anyway, the film has re-entered the spotlight recently after the legitimate look-alike comparisons between his caddy in the beloved golfing film and Will Zalatoris continued. The light-hearted exchanges have been ongoing for a while now, and Zalatoris took them in his stride, dating back to the 2021 Masters when he offered his caddying services for Sandler.
If you’re ever in need of a caddie again let me know. I’ll be better this time. I’m always available for you, Mr. Gilmore. https://t.co/R1e8awZIvh

Sandler tweeted Zalatoris after his FedEx play-off win last week, with a picture of the caddy used in the fictional 1996 Waterbury Open, with whom Sandler’s character shared some hilarious moments.
In fact, there are regular interactions between the Tour, Adam Sandler, Will Zalatoris, and now Shooter McGavin. Taking the role of the film’s villain, Shooter McGavin is played by Chris MacDonald. He grabbed the attention for uploading a selfie with Tiger Woods today. Tiger shook hands and was heard saying ‘You’re the best.’ MacDonald even shook hands accompanied with a trademark Shooter McGavin wink. The fictional character of McGavin has a dedicated parody Twitter account with almost half a million followers, putting some legit pros to shame with his following.

You could almost hear his joke about Doug spending more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff. Depends if you rewatch the film every summer. But who could forget the epic battle for the gold jacket?
Surely Happy Gilmore 2 is on the horizon?
