Shot Scope G6 GPS Watch Review: Next-Level Course Management?
The Shot Scope G6 Golf Watch is the latest and greatest GPS watch from Shot Scope, built to make your life a little easier on the course.
If you’ve used their previous models, you’ll appreciate the upgrades, and if you’re new to Shot Scope, you’re in for a treat.
The G6 comes packed with smart features that help you navigate the course with confidence, giving you everything you need right on your wrist. It’s almost as if course management was the theme when designing this watch.
The Best NEW Feature
One of the best things about the G6 is its full hole maps. Instead of just giving you basic yardages like most GPS Watches do, G6 lets you see the entire hole layout, including hazards, bunkers, doglegs, and layup spots.
This is a feature that was previously only available on Shot Scope’s V5 stat-tracking watch, so its nice to see the functionality make its way into the G6.
With hole maps you get a clear view of what’s ahead, so you can make smarter decisions before each shot. Plus, with front, middle, and back distances to the green, you’ll always have the info you need to choose the right club. You gotta love that!

The Design
The G6 is super lightweight, weighing just 42 grams, which means you’ll barely feel it on your wrist. For those of you who don’t like wearing a watch because of the bulkiness, this one may change your mind.
It’s got a clean, easy-to-use interface that won’t distract you while you’re playing and one of my favorite features is not worrying about seeing the screen on a sunny day – the color display is designed to be easy to read, even in bright conditions.

For those who like a little personal touch, the G6 has interchangeable straps with multiple different colors to select from, so you can switch up the look whenever you want. It even has multiple clock faces, so when you’re not on the course, it still looks stylish as an everyday watch.
Another cool feature is the built-in digital scorecard. You can keep track of your score as you play, so there’s no need for a paper scorecard or a separate app.
At the end of your round, the G6 gives you a summary of your score and makes it easy to see how you performed. And if you’ve ever wondered how far you actually hit a shot, the last-shot distance measurement tool has you covered – another awesome feature.
The Setup
Setting up the G6 is a breeze. It comes preloaded with over 36,000 courses worldwide, so you can just strap it on and start playing.
The battery life is solid too, lasting more than two rounds on a single charge. And unlike some other golf watches, there are no subscription fees – you get free firmware updates and access to new features as they come out. And having no hidden or recurring subscription fees is certainly another reason to love this product!

Other Key Features
The watch also helps you avoid trouble spots with its hazard and layup distance feature. You’ll get precise front and carry distances for every bunker, water hazard, or other obstacles in your way.
And for those tricky dogleg holes, the watch tells you exactly how far it is to the bend, so you can plan your tee shots accordingly. How’s that for course management?!
One of the most useful features is its dynamic yardages, meaning the distances adjust based on where you are on the course. It’s always giving you the most accurate number, so you’re never left guessing – we’ve even tested them using rangefinders in our video review (below). You can also switch between yards and meters depending on your preference.

Quality and Durability
Durability-wise, the G6 is built to last which is evident from the design.
It easily handled the heavy winds and rain during our test round and the comfortable strap keeps the watch secure without feeling too tight or irritating.
Durability was a key seller for me because from my experience watches can get knocked around a bit in a golf bag, travel, etc so they need to be able to withstand a little abuse.

Bonus Features + Price
Although you’re not necessarily buying this watch to wear everyday, the G6 can easily double as an everyday watch. With multiple clock faces to choose from, it doesn’t just have to be for the golf course.
It looks good and functions well, making it a solid choice even when you’re off the fairways. Plus with the color strap changes, you can match any style.
For the price, the G6 is a great deal – $179.99 and no subscription fees.

Overall, the Shot Scope G6 is a fantastic golf watch for anyone who wants accurate GPS info, an easy-to-use interface, and helpful on-course features without breaking the bank.
Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a serious player looking for an edge, this watch has everything you need to make better decisions and improve your game.
