Playing Through: Shot Scope’s PRO ZR is actually built for whatever you’ll encounter on the golf course. The DuraShield Hardshell makes sure the internals—including its switchable Red/Black Optics—will be protected from anything imaginable, whether that means falling off a golf cart or the occasional rain storm.

There are countless rangefinders on the market, which range in price and functionality. But what Shot Scope’s PRO ZR looks to do differently from the competition is offer the most valuable features in a near-bombproof construction and at a reasonable price point.

For less than $250, the PRO ZR comes with the essential features (e.g., Tournament-Legal Slope), along with certain “plus” features, including switchable Red/Black optics, Target Lock vibration, and a heavy-duty magnet that ensures the PRO ZR is always readily-accessible.

To make sure all of these features (and your investment) stay protected, the PRO ZR is enclosed in a DuraShield Hardshell.

Rather than the standard plastic casing, which offers very limited protection (and is prone to chipping), the PRO ZR has a metallic body paired with a rubberized grip, which not only gives a significantly more premium feel but also a level of armor and protection that isn’t commonplace.

While other rangefinders may offer you similar functionality and send you on your way, Shot Scope goes another step further by offering free access to its GPS maps via the Shot Scope app.

Indeed, one of the biggest drawbacks of a rangefinder is that you only know about what you can see, but Shot Scope’s GPS maps look to uncover the unknown by providing you with a bird’s eye view of the entire hole.

As a result, that hidden bunker or water trap over the hill is all exposed with pinpoint accuracy, along with the front, middle, and back distances to each green.

The PRO ZR is rated for 1,500 yards and comes backed with a 24-month warranty, both of which match or exceed the competition. And while it can’t do stat tracking, it’s likely that the PRO ZR could be your gateway drug to other Shot Scope products, all of which come without any membership subscription or update fees.
