Social Media Can’t Decide What to Think About LIV Golf Celebrations

Another day, another conversation about LIV Golf.

The latest debate? “Are LIV Golf’s team celebrations after an event ends too much?”

As LIV Golf continues to trend forward and upward in terms of competitiveness after snatching names like Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Anthony Kim, people are still undecided on what to think about the league that rivals the PGA Tour.

Whether you’re a traditionalist or someone who believes in the inclusiveness that golf encapsulates, people are relatively split following images of Ripper GC’s triumph down under:

There’s no doubt these celebrations differ from what we see on television with the PGA Tour. Traditionally, the TOUR shows relatively subdued victory laps, quiet interviews, and nothing completely out of the ordinary for what traditional golf would entail.

Some of the TOUR loyalists would cast stones in the direction of LIV Golf even if they played 72 holes and emulated everything that has made the PGA Tour what it is. However, LIV Golf does things completely differently, and people are simply not sure about it.

“It gets more cringe every time,” one person said in response to the video.

“Embarrassing our game! Thanks, Greg,” another said.

One thing is for sure, and that’s many of us would celebrate significantly more if we won less than what Cam Smith’s Ripper GC won yesterday for taking home the team title at LIV Golf Adelaide, as the foursome split $3 million.

What do you think about LIV Golf’s celebratory nature?
