Spieth Goes After Adult Autograph Seekers
Following his practice round on Wednesday, Jordan Spieth got into a verbal altercation with a group of men seeking his autograph.
When Spieth wouldn’t sign their stuff, the men started heckling him, as well as using profane language.
That was enough for the Major winner to confront them by simply reminding the men, “C’mon, guys, there are children here.”
But during his post-round press conference, Spieth was still clearly fired up about it.

“It’s not really worth me spending time arguing, but I’m just not really appreciative of people who travel to benefit off of other people’s success,” Spieth told reporters, “I enjoy signing and I sign for kids whenever we get the chance. But these guys have these items that you’ve already seen online.”
“Our team keeps track of that kind of stuff, and these guys just have bags of stuff to benefit from other people’s success when they didn’t do anything themselves.”
Spieth has a history with these “eBayers”. At the U.S. Open at Oakmont last year, he made a point of calling them out after seeing a kid being smooshed by grown men looking for an autograph.
I’m not going to tell you how to live your life. But, if you’re one of these guys crushing kids or f-bombing athletes because they didn’t sign your crap, you might want to re-evaluate your life.
Or as Jordan put it yesterday, “Go get a job instead of trying to make money off of things we’ve been able to do.”
