STYLE: adidas Golf Debuts ZG21 Motion and ZG21 Motion BOA

Determined to push the industry forward, adidas is expanding the very popular, successful collection with the ZG21 Motion to show that creating footwear that’s made in part with recycled materials can still provide the performance golfers need and expect.

The mission with ZG21 Motion was simple: create a high-performance upper made with recycled materials without changing what ZG21 was always meant to be—a lightweight spiked-performance shoe with zero compromises.

adidas achieved  its goal by designing a technical mesh upper that is engineered to provide comfort, stability, and protection.

This textile mesh upper is made with a minimum of 50% of recycled materials, remaining true to adidas’ mission to END PLASTIC WASTE and use only recycled polyester in their products wherever possible by 2024. This upper is also waterproof (1-year warranty), proving that there is zero compromise when it comes to performance.

“ZG21 really filled a hole that we felt existed in the industry when it came to lightweight spiked footwear, and we’ve heard nothing but positive feedback around its design,” said Masun Denison, Global Director of Footwear, adidas Golf. “That being said, we wanted to push the limits and see what was possible in regard to how we incorporated more sustainable materials without sacrificing performance, that when we say ‘zero compromise’ we truly mean it.”

As part of this release, adidas will also be introducing ZG21 Motion BOA, a new version for both men and women. In addition to the engineered textile upper made in part with recycled materials, this new silhouette features a higher cut design and sock-like opening for added stability, alongside the new PerformFit Wrap powered by the BOA Fit System.

This ‘Y’-strap design offers an even higher level of performance, creating a secure fit over the instep and provides flexibility and freedom in the toe box. The ZG21 Motion BOA will also come with a one-year waterproof warranty to protect golfers from the elements.

The ZG21 Motion models all feature the key innovations from adidas’ original model that made it a leader in lightweight spiked performance: LIGHTSTRIKE, UTLRA-LIGHT STABILITY FIN, our BOOST cushioning in the heel, and the SWINGPLANE TRACTION outsole.

The new ZG21 Motion models are all on sale starting TODAY, with the ZG21 Motion laced ($180) available in the U.S. in three colorways:

• Grey / Victory Blue / Pulse Yellow
• Crew Navy / White / Focus Blue
• Core Black / Grey

The ZG21 Motion BOA ($230) (Mens) will be available in two colorways—Core Black / Screaming Green / White and Crew Navy / Silver Metallic / White—while the ZG21 Motion BOA ($220) (Womens) will be available in one—Grey / Focus Blue / Pulse Yellow.

No Dye versions of the ZG21 Motion shoes were announced on August. 16st, however those models are not waterproof.
