Sun Day Red’s New Tiger-Engineered Polo Aims to Become Best in Golf
Tiger Woods’s Sun Day Red brand is one of the newest and hottest brands in the golf apparel space, and it has a new polo on the way that aims to be one of the best in the industry.
Most may not know this, but Tiger has a very direct involvement in what Sun Day Red designs and releases.
The company, along with its Senior Creative Director Cáje Moye and President Brad Blankenship, told me that everything from the buttons to the collar to the colors are all suggested by Tiger using his decades of experience with apparel.
The new lineup of polos is no different. Designed with a classic fit, the “Heritage” lineup is not your typical collared golf shirt. It features things like an extended back, high-end performance material, and a lightweight design that is ideal for a variety of playing conditions.
The above colors are not the only ones that will be available. The Heritage Polo will be sold in 14 different designs.
Heritage Lineup Features
Fit
Polos should not be restrictive to a golf swing, but they should still have a fitted look that allows you to look your best on the course.
That’s what Tiger had in mind for this polo specifically. Although it is a perfect balance between slim and roomy, the Heritage polos will not restrict a golfer from completing their full swing radius.
Shirt Tail
Tiger wears polos on the course and at the range during practice. This required a special length shirt tail that would be suitable for both.
With older polos, Tiger said he felt as if he was stuffing yards of fabric in his pants, leading to an uncomfortable fit. That also made these shirts unsuitable for an untucked option when you’re enjoying a casual round or hitting balls on the range.

The shirt tail on the Heritage lineup is slightly stepped on for the perfect amount of fabric to tuck without the bulk. When coupled with a silicone-banded waistband, like what is featured in the Dynam pant, the shirt will stay tucked, keeping you looking sharp throughout the round.
Materials
Apparel is as important as clubs in Tiger’s eyes. When I spoke with the Sun Day Red team, they told me they were astounded by Tiger’s attention to detail in terms of materials and how a polo should react to humidity and various temperatures.

Multiple materials and versions of the Heritage polo were tested by Tiger personally, one of which came during the U.S. Open at Pinehurst earlier this year. The team said that on Friday, they knew changes would be made when the humid and hot conditions in North Carolina had Tiger sweating through his material.
This initial release of the polo has a variety of performance and weighting options that are ideal for various playing conditions. If it’s hot one day or cool another, there’s a polo in this lineup for that.
A Finish that Stays Clean
The collar will stay crisp, keeping the look of the shirt clean and fresh. This was a focus of Tiger’s with this polo, as a collar that can maintain the heat and the wear and tear during a long day of golf.
It also features premium pearl buttons that were requested in a fashion that Tiger needs. The first button can be left undone, maintaining the perfect spread as traditionally worn. This makes the shirt ideal for both on and off-course settings.
