No matter where you’re playing golf, you’re bound to run into some wildlife. You usually expect to admire these animals from afar, but this friendly deer wanted to be part of the game.

Katie Nolff was playing a round with her fiancee this week in Oakland County, Michigan when they got a surprise visitor on the green. As she was getting ready to putt, a deer ended up coming up on to the green to see what was happening. The deer came right up to Noff, sniffed her for a little bit, and watched her drain her putt before the two decided to move on to the next hole.

Nolff posted a video on Facebook and you can hear the little conversation she has with the deer. After the young buck comes up, Noff reaches out her hand to be friendly and says to the deer: “Your horns are a little nerve-racking.” I don’t know if she was going for a pun here, because of the buck’s “rack” but it was funny nonetheless. After she finished off her putt, she petted the deer a little more before heading off.

Curious Deer Watches Closely as Michigan Woman Sinks Golf Putt

PGA pro Jason Michael Dudzinski and his fiancee, Katie Nolff, were enjoying a day of golf on September 27 in Oakland County, Michigan, when a young deer wandered onto the course. Dudzinski posted a video to his Facebook page showing the deer walking right up to Nolff just as she is setting up for her last shot of the day.

After the Facebook post, all of the Disney princess comparisons came out. Specifically, the comparison that comes to mind is Snow White. In the Disney classic, Snow White is in the woods when a friendly deer comes up and nuzzles her. The story got so big that even ESPN picked it up and posted it across their social media accounts.

Even though this is a cool, heart-warming story, not all wildlife on the golf course is as friendly as this buck. Over the years, there have been videos of golfers being attacked by birds, alligators, even kangaroos. So no matter how some of these animals may seem to be, it’s always smart to remain cautious when sharing the course with its natural habitants.

I think it’s safe to say Noff isn’t the real-life Snow White since the Seven Dwarves didn’t come out on any later holes, but it’s still a funny comparison regardless. And perhaps this deer will give some more golfers friendly interactions for the rest of the golf season.
