TaylorMade Launches Qi10 Driver Lineup: Speed, Length, and Forgiveness

TaylorMade has long been in the distance game. When designing their new flagship driver, that was the mantra: make it far, long and fast.

The Qi10 doesn’t abandon that focus (that is, in fact, what a driver needs to be to be successful), but instead adds a fourth ingredient to the mix: forgiveness.

There are three models—the Qi10, Qi10 LS and Qi10 MAX—in TaylorMade’s 2024 lineup, but the naming really comes from that third model, the MAX, because as the name alludes to, this is TaylorMade’s first driver that measures in with more than 10,000 MOI (moment of inertia, which is a measurement used to measure how much resistance a golf club has to off-center shots, i.e., forgiveness).

But regardless which model you go with, all of the Qi10’s will feature a revised Infinity Carbon Crown that will cover 97% of the crown and aide in redistributing weight for, you guessed it, increased MOI, and a revised Carbon Twist Face that, most notably, features a color change from red to blue but continues to deliver high ball speeds.

With respect to features distinct to each of the three models, the Qi10—available in 9, 10.5 and 12 degree heads—is the Goldilocks between the LS and MAX. The head is slightly larger than the LS, but smaller than the MAX with a weight located closer to the center of the face to promote a neutral ball flight.

The Qi10 LS—available in 8, 9 and 10.5 degree heads—is the lower-spin option that features a slightly more compact profile and an 18-gram sliding sole weight that is positioned right behind the Speed Pocket (don’t call it a comeback, cause it’s actually been here for years). When the packaging is combined with the changes to the Infinity Carbon Crown and sole weight, the LS’ weight has been carefully positioned to keep spin down while only sacrificing the bare minimum MOI to do so.

Finally there is the MAX, which is arguably the star of the show. Available in 9, 10.5 and 12 degree heads, this is the only model that is true to the Qi10 naming by featuring more than 10,000 MOI. So if you need maximum help keeping the ball on your intended fairway, this may be the one to look at first.

As briefly noted, the Qi10 features a gloss finish, with a black crown and sole with some aluminum, white and limited yellow accenting. All Qi10 models will come with a white, boxing-glove style head cover. The Qi10 and Qi10 MAX will both retail at $600, while the LS will retail at $630.

Like past TaylorMade offerings, there will also be a custom program available for those who want the most unique Qi10 possible, but keep your eyes open for special, limited edition releases throughout the year, like how TaylorMade offered Stealth 2s with Ryder Cup and Red Bull F1 finishes.
