Team USA Extends President’s Cup Dominance, But It Didn’t Come Easy
The United States extended its President’s Cup dominance, but the International Team sure did not make it easy on them.
The Americans are now 15-1-1 in the last 17 President’s Cup events. They looked to be in command once again after Thursday when they swept the Internationals, who had something to say about it on Friday.
The United States looked flat on Friday, getting reverse-swept by the Internationals on Friday. After a 5-5 team score heading into Saturday, things got interesting…and chippy.
This President’s Cup truly had it all: good shots, fierce competition, and a few matchups that lived up to expectations.

Perhaps the highlight of the weekend was Si Woo Kim’s “nighty night” celebration, an ode to Steph Curry during the Summer Olympics. But when Patrick Cantlay, who has been a bit of a mainstay of clutch-ness for the Americans in Ryder Cups over the past few years, hit a lengthy putt to seal the victory, Wyndham Clark had to give it right back to him.

Byeong Hun-An took to X in a now-deleted post to discuss Clark’s reaction:
“You always have a guy in your group, who doesn’t do sh*t but talk sh*t all day.”
Clark responded:

It is safe to say there is no love lost during these weekends, and that’s why we love them. The passion that comes from these events, the fire, and the will to win keeps the team format as one of the best weekends of the year.
