The Bushnell Pro X3+ is THE Competition Player’s Rangefinder

Playing Through: the Bushnell Pro X3+ is something you would expect special forces guys to use to line up a precision strike. But on the golf course, there is no other laser rangefinder that will give you more precise data; the Bushnell Pro X3+ is, simply, the best, particularly when it is paired with the Bushnell App—which unlocks the full potential of the Pro X3+. Combined with its internal Slope Function, the Pro X3+ and Bushnell App work together to unlock Elements Compensation so you have the most exact distance that the next shot “plays as.”

Bushnell was founded in 1948, making it older (and more established) than a considerable number of the most tenured names in golf equipment—PING (1959), TaylorMade (1979), and Callaway (1982), to name a few. Bushnell, however, didn’t break into the golf marketplace until 1995. Since then, they have been the maker of the most trusted and used piece of equipment on the PGA Tour—used by more than 98% of professional golfers.

Bushnell’s Pro X3+ laser rangefinder demonstrates why that’s the case; it provides a suite of precise data that nobody else comes close to. To explain, while most (if not all) entry-level rangefinders are now equipped with a slope function (which is calculated using the Pythagorean theorem you learned in high school math), none of the alternative options in the overcrowded rangefinder marketplace compensate distances for the elements: temperature, barometric pressure, elevation, and wind speed.

Connecting the Pro X3+ with the Bushnell smartphone app (which can also be used to adjust the ProX3+’s settings, in addition to accessing hole layouts with distance, 3D flyovers with distance, and wireless course updates), the Pro X3+ is able to provide industry-exclusive information that—when you’re competing, whether at the club, regional, state and national level—become necessary to consistently hit the very best shot you can with confidence.

Accessing this precise information does not cause delays, nor does it require an MIT degree to sift through it. Instead, the Pro X3+ immediately displays the “raw” distance, along with the Elements Compensated Distance—alongside the slope and front, back and side-to-side wind-speed adjustments (which become valuable when you need to compensate for whether you’re looking to let your fade ride the window or have the wind hold your fade). All of this invaluable information is displayed in the clearest of optics; the Pro X3+ allows for Red and Black displays (which can be adjusted for brightness) through a seven times magnification.

After having the opportunity to test numerous laser rangefinders over the years, you immediately notice upon unboxing the Pro X3+ that there is a level of quality that supports the pricing. The weight and feel in your hands, coupled with the premium construction, make it immediately clear that this is a tougher, higher-quality device than everything else you’ve tried before.

The top quality isn’t limited to form. Functionally, the Pro X3+ does everything better. While some competitors offer a similar target vibration, Bushnell’s JOLT vibration is stronger (eliminating any doubts if it was just your shaky hand) and is combined with PinSeeker—a “locked on” reticle that visually confirms that you’ve hit the pin flag (and not something else 20-30 yards behind it).

It’s worth noting that many of these features are not, unfortunately, permitted to be used during competition rounds. But Bushnell is very conscious of the fact that it’s the preferred option among competition players (by an overwhelming margin, in fact), and Bushnell has included a very visible Locking Slope-Switch that eliminates any doubts and disputes over whether you’ve disabled these functions and, therefore, are playing in a competition conforming mode.

But with great power, sadly, comes a great price tag. And there’s no way around it: the Pro X3+ is just over $500. Remarkably, it’s not the most expensive rangefinder, but it’s still a price tag that rivals a new driver or replacement set of wedges. However, unlike either of those clubs, the functionality and build quality of the Pro X3+ means it could easily secure (and defend) a spot in your bag for the next 5 to 10 years. Stated differently, the Pro X3+ is a long-term investment that’s guaranteed to win.

Golf is a game of misses, so the key is making sure your’s are less than everyone else’s. Bushnell’s Pro X3+ will do its part to help make that possible; with and without Slope and Elements Modes, the Pro X3+ will provide immediate and precise data that will never be misread, thanks to the clear optics.

So, if you are someone who tests their game under pressure and demands the most accurate data, the Bushnell Pro X3+ is the rangefinder for you.
