The Masters Sets Various Records for Viewerships, Breaks 7-Year Drought
The Masters broke several records on Sunday for viewership, showing an incredible increase in overall interest for both CBS and Paramount+ as the tournament showcased its biggest viewership day since 2018.
CBS drew 12.7 million viewers during the Final Round, up 33 percent from last year’s tournament and the most watched Sunday round at Augusta since 2018, when Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed were in the final pairing.
CBS says final round of @TheMasters drew 12.7M viewers, up 33% from 2024 and the most-watched since 2018 (Reed).
The number peaked at an insane 19.5M between 7-7:15.
If you go back 25 years, this would rank 14th overall, but among the strongest without Tiger. pic.twitter.com/ooJoxjeJRn

This was among the strongest Masters tournaments without Tiger Woods, who did not play this year due to a ruptured Achilles tendon in his heel that he damaged preparing for this past weekend.
The numbers show a dramatic interest in the game, considering the TOUR and LIV Golf have both reported slumps in overall viewership. The storyline with McIlroy going for the Career Grand Slam, his pairing with widely-popular Bryson DeChambeau, and the dramatic finish made for prime conditions as The Masters continues to be among the best sporting events globally.
Additionally, Paramount+, which made available various streams of The Masters throughout the weekend, had its largest non-NFL sports day of all time. The 2025 Masters was also the most-streamed golf event ever on the platform, as it registered triple-digit viewership growth compared to 2024.
