This week the PGA TOUR’s unofficial fifth major returns to the TPC Sawgrass for one of the most loved and anticipated events in the golfing calendar – THE PLAYERS.

The tournament attracts nothing less than the worlds golfing elite, with its prestigious par-72 course, and not to mention one of the largest purse’s on the tour, with the winner receiving a whopping $1,890,000!

Amongst the field of professionals, there is of course the World top five – including the world number five and defending champion Rickie Fowler.

However, it is safe to say that all eyes will be on world number two Jordan Spieth, to see whether the Texan can make a phenomenal return after his Masters heartache last month.

Spieth has not competed in any tournaments since his meltdown at Augusta, making this week his first appearance back on the PGA TOUR – with everyone in high hopes he can return to showcase his stellar golfing form.

Along with the World number two being the 54-hole leader at The Players on his debut two years ago, the test of Sawgrass is very much suited to Spieth’s game, making this week his perfect opportunity to bounce back and remind us all of his outstanding mental strength as well as golfing ability.

The World number two has also been practicing with defending champion and holiday friend Rickie Fowler – both tipped to be ones to watch this week.

We all know that the best athletes are at their most dangerous when they have suffered a disheartening blow – so we have no doubt that this week Jordan bring his A-game, and his Masters meltdown very much be a thing of the past.
