These 12 PGA Tour Players Lost Their Cards on Sunday
The battle of getting to the PGA Tour is not for the feint of heart, and staying there is almost as difficult. There are 12 big names that lost their PGA Tour Cards on Sunday at the RSM Classic, as it is the last calendar event of the year.
While Ludvig Åberg won the event, some were fighting for their Tour status.

The Top 125 players in the PGA Tour standings kept their status for 2024, but several notable names fell outside of that realm, and will either fight for their status once again through the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA Tour Q-School, or Medical Exemptions. They will start 2024 without full Tour Status, according to Golf.com.
- Carl Yuan – He finished 126th in the FedEx Cup Fall rankings. What a heartbreaker.
- Maverick McNealy – The Stanford Grad and certified Pilot can apply for a medical exemption as he lost six months due to a shoulder injury. His lackluster Saturday 71, while everyone was scoring at the RSM Classic, perhaps cost him from having to apply for the exemption.
- Jimmy Walker – A Major Champion and a notable critic of the PGA Tour structure, Walker used his one-time Top 50 career money exemption this past season.
- Charley Hoffman – He can use his Top 50 money exemption for this year, as he did not use it in 2023.
- Harry Higgs – Everyone loves Harry Higgs. But he’ll have conditional status for 2024 as he managed to stay inside the Top 150, at 145th.
- Doc Redman – Likely headed to Q-School. His RSM Classic ended with a Missed Cut, his 20th of the year.
- Jason Dufner – His Top 50 money exemption was used this past year. He will have to play out of the past champions with more than 150 career made cuts.
- Sean O’Hair – He’s won four times on Tour but will probably use the same exemption as Dufner.
- Zach Johnson – The 2023 Ryder Cup Captain used his second career money exemption as he is 14th all-time.
- James Hahn – He will qualify for the same exemption as Dufner, as his 150th cut made was at the World Wide Technology Championship earlier in November.
- Nick Watney – With just eight cuts made in 2022-23, he will also use the same exemption as Dufner.
- Brandt Snedeker – Eight months missed due to experimental back surgery, he played the 2022-23 season on his second money list exemption as he is 23rd all-time.
