Tiger Woods INJURED At Home During Practice Session Prepping for The Masters
Tiger Woods was injured at his home during a practice and training session in preparation for The Masters in mid-April.
The 15-time Major Champion said in a statement on his various social media platforms that a “sharp pain in his left Achilles” was felt during a training and practice session at home.
It was “deemed to be ruptured,” he said in the full statement:
“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured. This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon. ‘The surgery went smoothly, and we expect a full recovery,’ added Dr. Stucken. I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.

Woods has dealt with numerous injuries over the past few years, stemming from anything including car accidents to routine ailments related to his age and years of professional athletics.
It is not clear whether Woods, who has won at Augusta National five times, will tee it up next month in the pursuit of a record-tying sixth Green Jacket. Based on this statement, it seems unlikely that his legs will be ready to handle potentially four days of walking at Augusta, which is one of the most drastic altitude-changing courses in golf.
