Tiger Woods’ Injury Update is Good News / Bad News
While caddying for his son this week, Tiger Woods gave a health update on his leg that has been an issue since his February 2021 car crash.
The good news for the 15-time major winner is that he’s pain-free in the right ankle where he underwent surgery following this year’s Masters. The bad news, however, is the rest of his leg.
“My ankle is fine. Where they fused my ankle, I have absolutely zero issues whatsoever,” Woods said on Tuesday. “That pain is completely gone. It’s the other areas that have been compensated for.”

Weekend warriors–especially those of a certain age–know exactly what Woods is talking about. Overcompensating for an injured body part can cause a trickle-down effect, so in a sense, it’s comforting to know that Tiger is just like the rest of us.
“You fix one [area], others have to become more hypermobile to get around it, and it can lead to some issues,” Woods explained.
After Tuesday’s announcement of Woods playing and owning a TGL franchise, we’re expecting him to play simulator golf come January. As for the real deal, Woods has been quiet on that front.
Having the opportunity to not only compete, but also own a @TGL team to represent Jupiter is an exciting next chapter for me. I expect Jupiter Links GC to showcase the golf culture of my hometown as we compete against the best players in the world. https://t.co/gM6ujTeW8r

A possibility is the Hero World Challenge in early December, as his exhibition tournament has one spot out of the 20-man field remaining to be filled.
Two weeks after that, we could see him tee it up once again with son Charlie at the PNC Championship. That event is only two days, and players are allowed to use a cart.
