Another step towards getting back to “normal” for Tiger Woods, he is set to be in attendance for the Genesis.

While Tiger will not be playing, he will resume his role as Tournament Host. His attendance does not come as a surprise, as he was involved last year’s television broadcast and his charity, TGR Foundation, is one of the main beneficiaries of the event.

Tiger has been laying low since the PNC Championship, where he and his son, Charlie, took second place to the Daly’s, but earlier today, @TWSPOT posted a new “Tiger Sighting,” where he looks to be in great shape.

Even though Tiger won’t be playing, his presence at the event will surely bring a lot of additional attention from the media and fans, alike.

It has been nearly a year since Tiger’s horrible car accident that has kept him sidelined from competition.

While fans has been speculating about when he will return to competition, Tiger wants to take his time to make sure his leg is healthy before planning his comeback.

In an interview at the Hero, Tiger said:

“I don’t foresee this leg ever being what it used to be, hence I’ll never have the back what it used to be, and the clock’s ticking… I’m getting older, I’m not getting any younger. All that combined means that a full schedule and a full practice schedule and the recovery that it would take to do that, no, I don’t have any desire to do that. But to ramp up for a few events a year as Mr. Hogan did, he did a pretty good job of it, and there’s no reason that I can’t do that and feel ready.”

But Tiger in attendance is a big step towards him possibly returning to Tour golf.

Do you think he’ll be able to return to competition for the Masters?
