Tiger Woods Recovery Update // Plus More From Around the World of Golf
The first event at The Concession was quite the hit. Collin Morikawa took it in dominant fashion, and became the second player under 25 years old to win a major and a WGC. Who do you think was the other? That’s right, Tiger Woods (even though he won 5 of the first 7 WGC events).
I said this in my BETS article, but I do think that The Concession won’t be remembered to be as difficult as it was because of Morikawa’s winning score sitting at 18 under, but that was not the case. That course ate up a lot of players, and if the weather had been less permitting, we would have seen a very different result. Let’s move into some of the storylines you should be following ahead of this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill.
Tiger Woods Recovery Update
According to a doctor (not in Tiger Woods’ medical team) that has looked over Tiger Woods’ injuries, it’s no news that it is going to be a long road back for Tiger. As for a recovery timeline, someone who is 45 and has had so many injuries in the past is going to have a much slower recovery, which again should be no surprise to anyone.
Dr. John Torres was quoted saying “The hope going forward is that, No. 1, he can walk again, that he can walk his daughter down the aisle when she gets married, that he can do those things he wants to do to play with his family and his kids. And hopefully, the best-case scenario is that he gets back to the level of golf that he’s used to.” It may be awhile before we see Tiger on the links, but hopefully we will eventually see him back at full strength.
The New Puma Arnold Palmer Collection is Absolutely Fire

Some of Puma’s biggest stars like Bryson Dechambeau, Rickie Fowler, and Gary Woodland will be rocking their newest Arnold Palmer collection this week. They really never miss with the patented red, yellow, and green umbrella. My favorite has got to be the Tea and Lemonade snapback, but go check out this link to see the rest of the cleanest collection put out in awhile.
Big Test For Jordan Spieth at Bay Hill
After a week of rest with the WGC tournament going on, it’ll be interesting to see how Jordan Spieth continues with the hot streak of golf he is on. I’ll say it every week until something changes, but the guy has to hit more fairways if he wants to win a golf tournament. His iron play as well as his short game has been so stellar his past three tournaments, but Bay Hill is not a place where you want to be missing fairways. I’m optimistic he’ll still be able to manage, but this is a huge test for Jordan Spieth’s comeback tour.
