Tiger Woods WD’s from the Genesis Invitational due to illness
Tiger Woods has withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational, midway through his second round.
A shank down his 18th hole on Thursday triggered concerns about his swing, and Tiger stated that ‘back spasms’ were affecting his downswing towards the end of the round.
He carded five birdies and six bogeys with a 72, and set off in a decent way on Friday, with a birdie on the 1st.
Wood parred the sixth hole after back to back bogeys, before hitting his drive down the seventh and abruptly calling an end to his tournament.

Driven off the course in a cart with his head in his hands, a sad sight for the golfing world as Tigers first official start since the Masters in 2023 comes to an early end. His last full four round appearance was exactly a year ago, at this event.
