Tiger Woods is completely turning the page on his Nike career.

He told members of the media at The Genesis Invitational this week that the iconic “TW” logo that debuted in 2000 as part of his Nike deal is no more. He did not get the rights to continue to use the logo from Nike.

But Woods says he’s all-in on his Sun Day Red brand, and to borrow a phrase from Taylor Swift, the “TW” is part of an old era.

“I don’t want it back,” Woods said. “I’ve moved on. This is a transition in my life. I’ve moved on to Sun Day Red, and we’re looking forward to building a brand that elicits excitement and is transformative.”

After 27 years with Nike, Woods has embarked on his own apparel brand in conjunction with TaylorMade. The Sun Day Red logo consists of a tiger with 15 stripes – each one represents a major win over the course of Woods’ career.

And before you ask, the company said in a release that there’s room for more stripes.

Woods’ tradition of wearing red started while playing collegiately at Stanford and transitioned into his color of choice on Sundays as a pro. He said it was due to his mother’s inspiration to wear a “power color.”
