Tiger’s Putter Could Fetch $1 Million

Who would have thought that a putter could potentially be worth $1 million? Read that again, $1 million…

Well, we could see the famous Newport Tell3 Scotty Cameron style putter used by Tiger Woods to win the 1997 Masters by a blazing 12 shots sell for a cool mil.

The Newport Tel3 is only one of two putters Tiger used to win his 15 major titles. According to Woods, it is one of two putters that he considers to be the most prominent in his putting studio.

As some probably realize, there were multiple Newport TeI3 models used by Woods in the 90s. According to Collectable, an online sports memorabilia website that allows anyone to invest in shares of iconic pieces of sports history, Tiger used this exact TeI3 Scotty in the 1998 U.S. Open at Olympic Club and in his victory at the 1998 BellSouth Class.

That’s pretty cool if you ask me. Not only was this putter used in a major championship, but it was also used in one of Tiger’s 82 PGA Tour wins. The putter includes Tiger’s initials and includes a certificate of authenticity.

The founder of Golden Age Golf Auctions, Ryan Carey, said:

“The golf collecting industry is scorching hot. We are seeing a massive uptick in demand – and that is long overdue.”

The previous owner of this magic stick was NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed who received it as a gift from Tiger during one of their friendly rounds at Isleworth. It now resides in the ownership of Collectable.

Most of us everyday Joes will probably never be able to justify paying such a steep price for a brutally used flat stick. That doesn’t have to stop you from owning a piece of sports history though.

You can buy shares of the putter on Collectable’s site that are currently trading at $34.45 each. Shares have increased 10% over the last 24 hours so get them while you can!
